Harvey Woolf, Student Assessment and Classification Working Group (SACWG)

Harvey Woolf was formerly Head of Academic Standards at the University of Wolverhampton and an Associate of the University’s Centre for Academic Practice.  He is one of the founder members of the Student Assessment and Classification Working Group (SACWG) and has published papers on a variety of aspects of assessment in UK Higher Education.  His recent research has included projects on the assessment of workplace learning in Foundation Degrees and in undergraduate History courses and on reflective learning in History placements.  His current interests are in employability and the undergraduate History curriculum and re-assessment and progression arrangements in UK HE.  He was a member of the Advisory Group for the revision of the Assessment of students and the recognition of prior learning chapter of the QAA’s Quality Code.

Dr Marie Stowell, Director of Quality and Educational Development, University of Worcester

Dr Marie Stowell is Director of Quality and Educational Development at the University of Worcester, where she has responsibility for strategic leadership on academic quality and learning and teaching matters.  Marie is a QAA Reviewer and Chair of the Student Assessment and Classification Working Group (SACWG) which engages in institutional research on assessment matters.  She has a longstanding interest in student assessment and issues of equity and fairness, and particularly how institutional policies can influence student achievement.
