Author Biographies

Steve Nash

Dr Steve Nash is a lecturer in Literature and Creative Writing. He is the author of three poetry collections, the most recent of which received Burning Eye Books' inaugural 'Not the Forward Prize for Best Poetry Collection'. Steve is the founding editor of Spelt Magazine and a Saboteur Award Winner for poetry.

Joanna Hemmings

Joanna Hemmings is a mature student at Leeds Beckett University, soon to be graduating with a first class honours degree in English with Creative Writing. She has a substantial employment background, primarily in management and organizational roles and hopes that her return to education will give her the tools to forge a more desirable career path in teaching or editorial positions. Her lifelong love of literature, which fondly began with The Tiger Who Came to Tea, has been harnessed and enthusiastically applied to all modules encountered on the English with Creative Writing bachelor’s course. Joanna will begin postgraduate studies at Leeds Beckett University in the new academic year.

Mackenzie Woodhouse

Mackenzie Woodhouse is an experimental writer from Sheffield who recently completed English With Creative Writing at Leeds Beckett University. Building from her fascination of everyday objects, food, and conversation, she has built a portfolio of strangely presented powerful poetry. Kenzie’s niche is focused upon form-play, style, and the possibilities of the blank page. She thinks that the poem should break free from the restrictions of the single page.
