Abstract

A portfolio consisting of four critical analyses of four different contemporary literary texts. Each text is analysed through a relevant critical lens, such as racism, class, xenophobia, and feminism, to highlight and explore the relation between literary texts and its contemporary moment.

  • Olivia Newby

    Olivia Newby is a third-year Media and English student with a passion for writing and a keen interest in societal issues and activism. This course has given Olivia the opportunity to combine and indulge in these interests, with modules such as Contemporary Literary Studies allowing her to explore how literature reflects and responds to its contemporary moment and can transform our understanding of our contemporary world.
